The Frankfort YMCA offers a variety of opportunities for school-aged children when they are on summer break. See descriptions below for all our Day Camp and Sport Camp options!

Day Camp offers a wide variety in its weekly curriculum, with a different theme of activities each week.  Children will be engaged in physical play (indoors and outdoors), arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, educational summer learning loss programs and more!  Day Camp is offered at the Downtown Frankfort YMCA, and also at Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg.  Breakfast, lunch, snack and field trips are included at the Frankfort location.  Breakfast, snack and field trips are provided for Lawrenceburg location (parent/guardian to provide sack lunch).

*We partner with Frankfort Independent Schools with the Summer Feeding Program, so there may be weeks when they are on break where parents will need to provide lunch.  We'll remind you!

Sport camps are a great way to gain knowledge and experience on the particular sport of the week.  These half-day camps offer great instructions, skill based exercises, competition and more, all while learning teamwork and sportsmanship!

Challenger Soccer (British Soccer Camp)
Each day, the coaches will take the players through a progressive series of skill building practices from unopposed, to opposed, game related and finally into a game.

  • Soccer ABC – Players will improve their Agility, Balance and Coordination.
  • Dribbling – improve the ability to change direction and move at speed.
  • Moves – master more than 20 different ways to turn and fake opponents.
  • Passing – improve accuracy, pace and 1st touch control.
  • Shooting – improve power and placement with each foot.
  • Heading – learn how to safely and confidently head the ball (approved age groups only)
  • Tackling/Defending – improve your tackling skills and learn how to defend.
  • Freestyle – daily program of juggling, lifts and balances by John Farnworth.
  • Camp World Cup – enjoy daily competitive games with an international flavor

Flag Football Camp
The YMCA flag football camp is the perfect program for young athletes who want a complete introduction to football or for those who simply want to brush up on their skills in preparation for league play. Through our 'skill of the day' campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and "de-flagging" or defensive positioning—all presented in a fun and positive environment. The week ends with the YMCA Combine Skills Contest, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron!

Basketball Camp
Our YMCA Basketball camp gives all kids the opportunity to understand the game that we invented! Our experienced coaches will instructs players about the game by focusing on the fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense through drills and educational games. The basketball camp week will end with “All-Star” Friday where kids will show off their skills, as well as a fun and competitive All-Star game.

Volleyball Camp
Learning proper volleyball fundamentals at a young age is key to future success. The YMCA Volleyball Camp will help your child set, spike and score their way to fun and learning. Your child will practice the fundamentals of the game through exciting drills, team play and other volleyball-themed activities. The volleyball camp week will end with a Friday skill showcase.
